Electronic Visit Verification

EVV that caregivers barely notice — and auditors trust

Clock-in and clock-out from the caregiver's phone with GPS coordinates and timestamps. Exceptions surface in a review queue instead of hiding in a spreadsheet, so your Medicaid visits stand up to audit without extra office hours.

Clovina Health EVV verification queue with GPS-flagged visits

One-tap clock-in

Caregivers clock in from their own phone. No paper timesheets, no phone calls to the office.

Server-side geofence

Every clock-in is checked against the client's address. Out-of-range visits are flagged, not silently accepted.

Audit-ready trail

Approvals, send-backs, and reason codes are timestamped with the user who made the call.

What Clovina captures on every visit

  • Service type, client, caregiver, and date — attached to the scheduled visit
  • GPS location and accuracy at clock-in and clock-out
  • Exact start and end times, preserved even when offline
  • Geofence result with distance from the client address
  • Verification decision, reason code, and who approved it
  • Aggregator-ready CSV export with payroll and error columns

EVV questions agencies ask us

What data does EVV have to capture?

Six points per the 21st Century Cures Act: service type, the individual receiving service, the date, the location, the individual providing service, and the time the service begins and ends. Clovina captures all six automatically at clock-in and clock-out.

Does Clovina submit directly to my state aggregator?

Today, EVV records export as aggregator-ready CSV files you upload to your state system, with payroll and error columns included. Direct API submission is on our roadmap.

What happens when a caregiver clocks in away from the client's home?

The visit still records, but it's flagged into a verification queue with the GPS distance shown. A coordinator approves with a reason code or sends it back — the decision is kept in a timestamped audit trail.

Does it work with poor cell coverage?

Yes. Clock-in and clock-out queue offline on the caregiver's phone and sync when connectivity returns, with the original timestamps preserved.
